Crisp bills per workspace. Reponse is $0 a month, with unlimited seats

Crisp is a simple, well-built multichannel messaging tool with a free plan for 2 seats. Reponse gives Shopify stores the helpdesk, unlimited human live chat and seats without billing them, with the Ambassador agent selling from day one: a 14-day trial up to 500 AI tasks, then $0.05 per AI task.

Why leave Crisp?

Your team's work never billed, every AI agent at work from day one.

Your team's work is never billed

Tickets, shared inbox, unlimited human live chat, reviews, loyalty and referrals: your team uses them with no meter running and no seat to pay for.

Unlimited seats

Crisp includes 4 seats on Mini then charges $10 per additional agent. On Reponse, the whole team is in the inbox with no per-seat fee.

AI by the task, not per credit

Every AI agent works during a 14-day trial, up to 500 AI tasks at no charge, then each AI task costs $0.05, instead of a credit balance to top up.

An agent that knows your catalog

The Ambassador agent reads the live Shopify catalog, advises the visitor and builds their cart before handing off to Shopify checkout, with no scenario to draw.

Crisp

With Crisp

On Crisp, the free plan lets you set business hours and automate a reply outside them, but it includes no AI credits, so the evening message waits for a human. To have the Hugo AI agent answer instead, you need the Essentials plan at $95 per month per workspace, which includes $25 of AI credits (around 450 automated conversations); the price of additional credits is not shown on the pricing page.

FAQ

Reponse or Crisp, in plain terms

How does Reponse pricing compare to Crisp pricing?

Crisp bills per workspace with seats included, starting at $45 per month for the Mini plan (4 agents, then $10 per additional agent), and its AI draws on a credit balance included in the plan, $5 on Mini, which Crisp estimates at around 90 automated conversations per month (the full conversational agent is listed from the Essentials plan). Reponse is one plan at $0 a month, with unlimited human live chat and seats and every AI agent. A 14-day trial covers up to 500 AI tasks at no charge; then each AI task costs $0.05, from the first one, on your Shopify invoice and within the budget you set. If your team answers by hand, Reponse costs nothing; once automation becomes your main channel, you pay by the AI task, with no credit balance to top up.

What happens to my Crisp history if I move to Reponse?

Crisp exports contact profiles as CSV from Contacts then Actions, available from the Essentials plan, but there is no native conversation export.

Chat history has to go through the Crisp API or a third-party migration tool. Reponse does not replay that history, it starts from your store instead: the Shopify sync brings in customers, orders and catalogue, and the agent works from that data on its first conversation. In practice, keep Crisp running while you roll the Reponse widget out on part of your traffic.

What does Reponse not replace from Crisp?

Crisp is a general-purpose messaging platform.

It serves SaaS products, brochure sites and teams with no ecommerce at all, with a status page, a scenario-based chatbot builder and five headline channels plus eight more it advertises. Reponse is built for Shopify and covers the store chat widget and the support emails you forward into Tickets, with no status page and no visual scenario editor. If your product is not a Shopify store, Crisp remains the sensible choice.

Which kind of team is Crisp still the better fit for?

Crisp fits teams that want one multichannel shared inbox for any kind of website, with people available to answer, a status page and a visual scenario builder. Reponse is for Shopify merchants who expect the AI to sell: it knows the catalogue, handles the cart inside the conversation, and hands over to a human agent when a request goes beyond it. Reviews, loyalty and referrals sit in the same product, which Crisp does not cover.
